In The Name Of Allah, The Most Compassionate,TheMost Merciful

REFLECTIONS AROUND THE GREAT MESSENGER (PBUH)
IN THE COMMORATION OF HIS DAY OF BIRTH

In the Name of Allah: No Assistance except from Him. Our praise to Allah: No Gratitude except for Him. Glories to You my Lord: You Created me and I am in full obedience to Your Command. I hold my covenant to You by whatever is in my power. I bear witness that there is no Deity except Allah. I send my prayers and greetings to the best among all creatures Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) the Messenger of peace who received the last message of heavens to guide the worlds and delivered Allah's Integrated Legislation and Wisdom in a perfect manner.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam, I greet you by the greeting of Islam: Asslamu Alikum Wa Rahmetu Allah Wa Barakath:

Yesterday was, most probably the day of commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). My Khutba today Inshaa Allah will be a reflection around that Great Man, who was sent as mercy to the whole worlds.

From the beginning of the revelation to its end, twenty-three years of miraculous incidence consisting of: defeat and victory; sorrow and joy; calamities and good times. Allah Summarized these years as an example for our life, in Sura # 3 Al-Imran, Verse # 140, where Allah Says:

"Such days (of varying fortunes) We Give to people and people by turns."

In about a quarter of a century, we find the last Messenger (PBUH) chased out of the sacred mosque at Mecca. His tribe's people acknowledged him as the best among their men, the most rational and the greatest in thought and behavior. But, when he called for the last Message revealed from the One God, they named him by what was stated in Sura # 15 Al-Hijr Verse # 6:

"They say: "O thou to whom the Message is being revealed! Truly thou art mad (or possessed)!"

After thirteen years of strenuous endurance and calamities, he was chased out of his home in Mecca to his destiny far away from the sacred mosque. There in Medina he was caught in a horrible defeat in Uhd, where 70 of the great Imams of Muslims fell martyrs. The nonbelievers in that battle, represented by their victorious leader, dared to say glory to our god Hobble and they raised their worshiped idol to the sky. In that weak situation, the Prophet (PBUH) asked the remaining of his companions: You will not respond to him? They asked what to say? He replied, say "Allah is higher and the Most Might."

If the nonbelievers had claimed that they won the battle, the following five years after Uhd observed the Muslims after that reply, as the masters in the holy city of Mecca. After one year from the conquest of Mecca, the Muslims controlled and purified the Sacred House of Allah and managed the Hajj season. In the Ninth year of Hijra, Sura # 9 Al-Tauba, was revealed, to end forever the existence of all the signs of idolaters and nonbelievers in that holy city and in its country at large after some time. That was the end of the bloody disputes and superstitions that served the evil-doers for years. The nonbelievers and idolaters were given a limited opportunity to come back to their senses or to leave forever, or else, they would be subjected to the loss of their lives and security if they insisted on staying in the holy city of Mecca. Listen to verses # 1-3, from that Sura, where Allah Says:

"A (declaration) of immunity From Allah and His Messenger. To those of the Pagans with whom you have contracted Mutual alliances: Go you, then for four months (as you will), throughout the land, But know yet that you cannot Frustrate Allah (by your falsehood), But that Allah Will Cover with shame those who reject Him. And an Announcement from Allah and His Messenger, to the people (Assembled) on the day of the Great Pilgrimage: That Allah and His Messenger Dissolve (treaty) obligations with the Pagans. If, then, you repent, It is best for you. But if you turn away, know you that you cannot Frustrate Allah, and proclaim a grievous chastisement to those who reject faith."

That comprehensive treaty came after twenty-two years. From the beginning of the revelation to the time of this treaty the Prophet (PBUH) lived a very long, bloody struggle between the call of the Monotheism of Allah as the only One God and the demize of ignorance that lived in blood shed, restricted freedom and continuous violations on human rights and righteousness. The fair response to these calamities was the eternal Law of Allah stated in Sura # 13 Al-Raad, Verse # 17, where Allah Says:

"Then, as for the foam, it passes away as scum upon the banks, while as for that which is of use to mankind, it remains in the earth."

That ugly dispute and bloody struggle was dictated to stay to the Day of Judgment as a lesson for humanity teaching them that: The struggle between the right and the evil is bitter in taste, bloody endeavor leading to death and calls for huge sacrifice. The early Muslims stood tough to face all these consequences and learned that: When the struggle reaches its peak and when calamities consumed all they owned, that was the signs of their victory and hopes. That was recorded for Muslims to learn that they will never acquire a cheap victory at any time.

One of the last Verses of revelation came in the season of Hajj as I stated before. In the ninth year of Hijjra, Muslims declared that:

  1. No Hajj after that year to any nonbeliever or idolater,
  2. No one of the nonbelievers will be allowed to enter the House of Allah at Mecca,
  3. None of the Hajj will be performed naked,
  4. Nonbelievers will not enter the paradise of reward.

That was the end of the foolish traditions before Islam. In the following year, Verse # 3 Sura # 5 Al-Maida was revealed when Allah Declared: the last Message to the whole worlds is now:

  1. PERFECTED: There will be no modifications in the legislation,
  2. it is COMPLETED: There will be no additions,
  3. and: ANY IDEOLOGY NOT FOLLOWING THE LAST MESSAGE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BY ALLAH.

Listen to that declaration, where Allah Says:

"This day Have I Perfected your religion for you, Completed My Favor upon you, and Have Chosen for you Islam as your religion."

Some Muslims believe that this Verse is the last of the revelation. But, in reality, it is the last Verse in the legislation and commandments. After 80 days from the revelation of that Verse, another one, that is # 281, Sura # 2 Al-Baqarah, was revealed, where Allah Stated a clear and shinny sign of the civilized Islam to the Day of Judgment, Allah Says:

"And make self protection against the Day when you shall be brought back to Allah. Then shall every soul be paid what it earned, And none shall be Dealt with unjustly."

This Verse categorizes Islam as the highest among all civilizations. Nowadays, the western civilization that dominates the East and West, worship the present and renounce the near future. Those who made its ideology: revealed for people: to worship only: their bodies, the instant pleasure and the current moment. But, to prepare for the Hereafter or to fill in the balance with good deeds to present it when they meet with Allah, these are beyond the considerations of the so - called modern civilizations. That sick civilization is indeed in full disbelief in Allah, even if the commitment to any faith is presumed. They did not achieve victory or conquer others, except when Muslims misused their inherited Islamic principles. The current civilization claimes superiority because of the Muslims who lost their ties to their religion and surrendered to artificial ideologies far away from the Righteous path Ordained by Allah.

Ask Allah forgiveness and be sure that He, Almighty will Respond and Reward you.

Praise be to Allah:

"Who Forgiveth Sin, Accepteth Repentance, Is Severe in Punishment, and Is all-Bountiful. There is no god But He: to Him Is the Final Goal."(40-3)

I ask Allah to shower His Peace and Prayers on Prophet Muhammad, his family and all his companions.

Dear Muslims:

All the divine messages before Islam were transient and local: dealing with specific unlawful among certain communities. All the messengers before Muhammad (PBUH) were assigned for certain places. The time-span of their Message was limited and updated by the following revelation of guidance. There were no other Messages that covered the worlds at all times to the Day of Judgment except the Message of Islam.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is honored by Allah. He was prepared and observed by Allah to master all the creations on earth and to stand tall as a standard at all times and allover the Globe. Allah Made His last Message sufficient to cover the guidance of Humanity with no more Messengers.

Allah Stated clearly, that He, Almighty Is Capable to send a Messenger to each and every city on earth, but, He Sent Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the last and sufficient Messenger to all humanity and other worlds. Listen to Verse # 51, Sura # 25 Al-Furqan, where Allah Says:

"Had it been Our Will, We Could Have Sent A Warner to every town."

If that was Allah's Will, He Would Have Sent Prophets to each community on earth. But, He Almighty, Shut the doors of heavens against any angel revealing any of Allah's Commandments after Muhammad (PBUH). The reason is that these angels will reveal nothing new. All guidance roots are embedded in the Holy Quraan. All remedies, cures, and all prescriptions are dictated in the pages of the last Book to support humanity as long as they live.

The last Message is a comprehensive and integrated teaching that contains all the lessons revealed to all the Messengers before Muhammad (PBUH) in updated additions sufficient to match the rationalization of humanity to the last day of the worldly life. In Sura # 6 Al-An'am, after Allah Enumerated 18 Prophets with their struggle and teaching delivered to their nations: Allah Instructed the last Messenger (PBUH), by Verse # 90 Saying:

"Those were the Prophets who received Allah's guidance. Follow the guidance they received;"
"Say no reward for this do I ask of you: This is but a reminder to the nations."

In the same Sura, Allah Says to His last Messenger in Verse # 19:

"This Quraan has been revealed to me by inspiration. That I may warn you and all whom it reaches."

That is: All those whom the Verses of the last revelation reach, are:

  • Warned by its commandments,
  • Ordained to think about its ideology,
  • Asked to examine, comprehend and judge its teaching
  • And make use of its benefits.

It was mandatory for this last Message to be universal and the last Messenger to be sent to the whole worlds. For that, the Message is full of the miracles that witness an ideology not sent only as a miracle to Arabs; But, to stand as a challenge dictating that:

Every year to the Day of Judgment this Message will reveal continuous and new signs in all kinds of knowledge mankind learned.

Let me conclude by the specific responsibility of Muslims. The Last two Verses # 77-78 of Sura # 22 Al-Haj, made it very clear that:

All Muslim believers will be asked to report in the Day of Judgment about:

  • Their dealing and communication with others in regards to reaching out and preaching.
  • Each one of us will be a witness that we tried our best to deliver the last Message.

While listening to these two Verses, imagine what you will say before Allah in that confrontation and prepare yourself from now. Allah Says:

"O you who believe! Bow down, prostrate yourselves, and adore Your Lord; and do good; that you may prosper. And strive in His Cause as you ought to strive, (With sincerity and under discipline). He Has Chosen you, and Has Imposed no difficulties on you in religion; it is the religion of your father Abraham. It is he who has named you Muslims, both before and in this (revelation); that the Messenger may be a witness for you, and you be witnesses for mankind!"

I hope and pray that all of us, our families and all other Muslims will be prepared to that day.

I will pray and ask Allah, Please say Amen
